Meet Judge Ross
experience
Judge Ross is thankful and honored to serve as a District Court Judge in Hoke and Moore Counties since being appointed by Gov. Josh Stein in April 2025. She has been fortunate to have over 26 years of experience as an attorney in the district court before becoming a judge. For most of her career, she was in the grind, practicing as a solo practitioner for 16+ years, handling all kinds of cases, including criminal, civil, and matters involving DSS, children, and families. She was also employed for almost 10 years in local government as a DSS Attorney for Lee County Department of Social Services and as an Associate County Attorney for Moore County. Her experience includes defending and prosecuting cases in district court, giving her both perspectives.
Education
Judge Ross attended Pinecrest High School. She played volleyball and basketball at UNC Charlotte where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work graduating Cum Laude. She earned her law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, and has been a licensed attorney since 1998.
Community Engagement
Judge Ross has enjoyed coaching sports for local recreation and travel teams and volunteering for Moore County Schools for many years. Although she is not from Hoke County, the community has embraced her with open arms. She feels honored to be welcomed into this community.
FAMILY
Judge Ross was born, raised, and has lived most of her life in Moore County. She is the daughter of Josephine Faulk and the late Freddy Faulk Jr. She is married to Tyrone Ross, who retired as a Captain with the NC State Highway Patrol after 30 years of service in law enforcement protecting our highways.
